Default Is it enough

Today, when I got back from work I saw a bouquet of flowers. When I asked my husband for the reason of this surprise, he said...no reason; I just love you a lot.
That was very nice of him. When I got to smell the flowers, I noticed a letter put in there. That was the awaited letter from USCIS - I got the approved for the residency!!!! I finally have my Green Card!!!!
I am so happy!!!

In the letter said that I needed to wait 8-10 months for receiving the plastic card from Nebraska. So if I need to travel or work in the mean time, I need to go to the local office to get a stamp. But at the same time, with the letter, I got a temporary green card witch is valid for 12 months till I got the real one.

My question is, do I still need to get the stamp, or the temp card is enough?

Thanks
Ania

Ania...Congratulations.....

Maybe you will get your card sooner. I got same letter (at the end of
December) saying to wait between 8-10 months for plastic card. I got it a
week later and was kind of shock for me, cause I didn't expect it at all
yet!

Did you get I-94 with I-551 stamp on it? I got it when I was approved and KC
office. But if you need to travel you will need to go back to the office to
get same stamp in your passport.

Good luck!

I am confused about the temp card. Since conditions apply to your residency, you should have gotten a I551 card that was good for two years. If giving out a one year I551 card until the two year one arrives is a new procedure, maybe someone else who has experienced this will chime in. I would think that the card is plenty, as long as it is an I551 card,

Aleksandra,
Yes, I got the I-94 with I-551 stamp on it. They told me before that this is kind of temporary "green card" if I need to work or etc. So, if I want to travel oversees I need to get my passport stamped? - Good to know, thanks!

This temp card is really a I-551 stamp on I-94 form. Its not a green card.
Usually you get I-551 stamp in your passport, but KC office doing this a
little different. This I-551/I-94 thing is temp, till you get your real 2
year green card.

Yes Ania...if you want to travel you need to go to KC office and ask for
I-551 stamp for your passport.
