EAD and returning to UK

I need to return to the UK for a week after a family bereavement. I am on a J-2 visa and have had my DS 2019 signed by the sponsoring institution, which they suggest is enough for me to leave and then re enter.
However, I remember reading something about needing further documentation if you have an EAD. Is there anything else I need?
Any help would be great

On what basis did you obtain the EAD?

If you have applied for AOS and obtained the EAD in conjunction with that, I think you'd need Advance Parole.

my wife has a J-1 visa, which enabled me as a J-2 holder to apply for the EAD.

Adjustment of status. Evidently not applicable to you.

I *think* you should be okay with a valid J2 + EAD... but I'm not sure!

Thanks for the help. I assumed that AOS meant Adjustment of Status, based on reading posts, although I have no experience of applying for AOS!
I hope that the valid visa and EAD is sufficient, although I wanted to be fully prepared.
Thanks again
