Default EAD renewal - where to file or electrically?

Hi all,
I'm needing to renew my EAD and not sure if I need to send a form in (which
form) or I've also heard of the electronical filing for renewal.
What is the current fee for renewal, is it the same as for first time EAD?

TIA
JG

Fill up the form I-765 ,USCIS fees( it was $ 140 now add extra$55 to it as fees has increased), 2 photographs, copy of I-485, copy of past EAD (both the sides) The TOP portion that you recieved when EAD( EAD was wraped in paper it has TOP portion)
I-140 filing reciept copy or I-140 approval copy AND color copy of your drving licence AND color copy of your first page of passport that has your DOB, Name and Photograph. write on cover letter what is attached and mail it to service center and out side the envelope write in big bol letter: FORM I-765 for EAD renewal

or I've also heard of the electronical filing for renewal.
----you can efile but many face problems and it does not get you EAD faster, Paper filing is the best
What is the current fee for renewal, is it the same as for first time EAD?
--- check the USCIS site for new fees it is increased $55 in April 2004

The form is the very same that you used for the original EAD, I-765. Follow the instructions on the form and either mail it and the requested fee to the local district office you are using or do it electronically. Depending on the basis for your eligibility the documentation you need to enclose varies. Often for renewals other than a front and back copy of the present EAD is all that is required.

As for the fee there has been a recent fee increase, effective April 30, and you should check with the USCIS website for the correct amount.

You can file either at the local district office or electronically. I've read of the results of both and they are approximately the same in terms of time with e-filing coming out a little ahead.

Remeber if your EAD is not in your hands by the 90th day after receipt of filing you are free to go to the local district office and demand an interim EAD.

Thanks Rete,
I went ahead and e-filed ($175). I'm now needing to call the service center
to schedule an appointment with Charlotte office.
Looks like I'll be getting the card the same day I have my appointment.

Thanks guys!
JG
