Hello
I am a K3 visa holder
We were fingerprinted for the EAD on 12th january. We received authorization
yesterday and told in an automated message that the card would turn up in 30-90 days.
Note when a k3 files for an EAD you send the form to chicago. all your notices have a
number starting with MSC....
you can get status via an automated system by calling +1 816 478 2619
note it only took chicago two weeks to respond from receipt of original EAD
application

John Thanks So was that 2 months in total?
Also how long did the receipt (I-797) acknowleging filing of the I-130 petition take,
and did you wait on this before filing the I-129F? Did you have an interview in
London and if so did they ask you for an Affindavit of support, it says on the
web-site that this "may" be required?
I'm not too sure on the order of filing these, but I want to do so, in the optimal
way so save time if you know what i mean. Thanks for the help

okay heres how we did it.
1 - got married in england on june 19th 2001 2 - wife returns to usa and files I-130
about a week later 3 - learnt about new k3 visa 4 - we received our first NOA for the
I-130 5 - having received 4 we applied for the K3 and sent application to chicago.
chicago approved the k3 quickly and sent it to another center possible missouri. 2
weeks after that the approval got to london who then contacted me by mail asking me
to complete some forms. I returned the forms then followed up a week later and got a
date for the interview in london and medical
in total from first sending the K3 application to actually having a k3 in my passport
took 2 months.
note - at embassy i was not asked for affadavit of support. I did need to show i had
money in the bank ie i was not entering the USA without funds. I had 10,000 dollars
available but dont know how much they want to see.
Note I will be returning to london in a month or two to get my green card. This time
i will need the affadavit of support but will also have to have the same medical![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
best of luck

John Thanks again for your help, so one final question. How long in total from when
you filed the I-130 to getting K3 approval in London? (you mentioned the time - 2
months - for K3 process).
