EAD Orlando

I went to the Orlando BCIS on Wednesday as my 90 days were up on my waiting period for getting my work visa.
I had a job offer to start on the 25th of March and really needed the visa to start.
So off I went to the Orlando sub office and I arrived at 6am to find a small queue of 20 people. By 8am offical opening time the queue was at the end of the building and getting longer by the minute. Security let us in 5 at a time so that we could be searched and then we were directed to the desk where we stated why we were there and then we were given a ticket and told to sit down. My ticket number.... 68 during the time it took for us to get in some people with appointments were let in and they were given the lower numbers. At 11.45am we saw our number come up and we approached the desk.
The gentleman behind the counter asked why we were there and I explained to him that we were here because I had not received an appointment date for my work visa and that I required an intrim work visa which would allow me to work for 240 days (regulation 8 DFR 274a 13 (d) )
At first he said the reason I had not got my appointment was that I was to early and circled the date at the top my receipt which I think he mistook for December this year and not last year. He then went away and came back and said due to the staff shotage he could not issue one that day and I would have to wait till I get an appointment, he went on to say that due to the special registration the EADs were taking between 90 and 120 days to process and that I may get my appointment in around 5 days. I went on to tell him about my job and that it started next week and he told me to bad.
I left very upset and kinda angry that I was told by the central information centre to go there and then I came away with nothing. Lucky the job I was offered understood when I told them and said that they would hold it for me.
My lawyer said to contact my Congressman and I did today and I spoke to one of his aids who does nothing else but deal with BCIS (INS) I filled a form in and posted it to her and once she gets it she will contact the offices on my behalf.
So there you have it my experience (first contact) with the BCIS in Orlando

Hello! I will be dealing with Orlando when my fiance can finally arrive, so I am very sorry to know this happened to you.. I was wondering, did you first file for an EAD after marrying or before? Also, same question for applying for your Social Security number.
Thanks, and I hope your situation is quickly resolved. Glad to know that your job offer will be held, at least that is a bright spot!
cheers,
patricia

I got married on the 9th November and did not file till the 5th of December. My 90 days started when I got my first NOA which then gave a date of the 19th of March being the end date. The Receipt then went on to inform me that I had to wait till this date to make my enquirys.
I have not got my SSN yet as I don't have my work visa and can not apply for it till I have it I would guess.
I hope that you don't have the issues I had with the Orlando office and that it alls goes well
