Default EAD issues Philadelphia

We need to go to the Philadelphia office tomorrow (Tuesday) for puting
in for an interim EAD for my wife as hers has run out now. We tried
going to the local (Dover DE) office today, and they said their
computer is broke and they do not know when it will be fixed. Warning
here for other people in the area presuming to go to the Dover USCIS
offce, they are disinterested in your issues, and have no alternatives
to offer even though the whole situation is created by them and their
systems! (rant over)
My question is regarding what to expect at the Philadelphia office? I
have heard some miserable stories.....
We are only going to be able to file the application tomorrow? or can
we get a new EAD? My wife would be technically not allowed to work if
we have to wait, which I find ridiculous. Does she have to leave her
job?
Ranting again now - What the hell is going on with the immigration
services? They are not even slow, they are worse than hibernating
snails.....

If it has been 90 days since you sent your EAD, you're entitled to
an interim one, technically she could not work, but employers do
vary when it comes to EAD and expiration, I don't know how hers
is. The Immigration process is rather slow everywhere, I had a rant
some time ago about Chicago being slow, and I could hear you,
BCIS is under funded, and there are lots of applications and the amount
of people who take care of the forms are limited. I think this slowness
will exist until either extra funds come from govt (very doubtful -- and
they're cutting them) or extra out of pocket $ for immigrants with higher
form costs.

I had issues with the local Chicago office for my EAD last year, but
it was my fault and I had sent it 75 days before it was expired, so
I waited 100 days from the time I had sent it, went to the office and
asked for an interim one and they issued me a full one. You just need
to be assertive with them.

If the Philaldephia office ppl don't comply, print this page and bring it
with you (only if it has been 90+ days)
