hello
does anyone know if Chicago Lock Box is also known as the "National Benefit
Center"?
My husband and I submitted application for EAD along with I485 adjustment
application; we have a receipt notice date of 22 August 2005. On Monday it
will have been 90 days. I was finger-printed/biometriced over a month ago.
They wrote about 6 weeks ago asking for my birth certificate (copy of which
they already had) and we sent them another copy and they confirmed receipt
of it about 5 weeks ago. The only thing is that I had translated my birth
certificate myself.
I am not desperate for an Interim EAD, but I would love to know if there is
a problem. For example, if they didn't like the fact that I had translated
the birth certificate myself. What do you recommend?
Many thanks.

The Chicago lockbox is in Chicago. The NBC is in Lee's Summit, MO. The lockbox accepts and processes the fee filing for NBC.
The birth certificate is for the adjustment filing, not the EAD.

Thanks Folinsky.
tell me please:
1) is it the NBC that processes the EAD? In other words would NBC
processing date (that appear on line) be applicable to me?
2) re: the birth certificate, are you saying that an issue regarding the
birth certificate should not/would not delay the issue of an EAD?
many thanks.
