EAD card mailing out from NBC?

EAD card mailing out from NBC?
Hi,
After being approved for my EAD from NBC in Missouri yesterday I was informed by the "mis"information helpline that I had to physically have the card before starting a job - they had no idea how long it takes from approval to sending the card out - does anyone know??? The approval notice said:"we ordered you a new card and it will be mailed out to you as soon as it is ready"
Is this days or weeks? I have a job that I need to start on November 3rd - does anyone have any suggestions?
