EAD card arrived with error
Hello good people.
Well my wife just got her EAD card today, and guess what? It has an
error on it. The mispelled her name. Instead og Xinqing the wrote in
Xinging. I'm now hunting around the web site looking up how to fix
this. If anyone has gone through this and has some suggestions/advice,
please sing out. :)
Thank you in advance.
And now for something amusing...
My wife met the Budweiser Clydesdales this weekend. My wife is petite,
and the Clydesdales are anything but. She is also a little twitchy
around animals. I managed to get to pictures. One of her with her hand
on the horse, and the other of the top of hear head as she is moving
out of frame and using me for cover. Why you ask? The horse twitched
when a fly landed on its ear. <grin>

You can probably make an Infopass appointment to try and get the typo corrected. Or, you could just let it go and not worry about it. If she needs to ever get a renewal EAD card, you can mention the typo then, and try to correct it...otherwise they'll collect the EAD card (most likely) at her AOS interview. I don't think the typo on her name is going to hurt anything, if all the other information is correct.
Best Wishes,

The put a "g" where they should have put a "q"?? My advice is to ignore it for the time being. I don't really think that anybody will really notice and if they do, the fact that it IS a "typo" is apparent.

Ok, however will this cause any issues when we go to get her Social
Security card? I am inclined to ignore it, however my wife is really
concerned and doesn't want to do anything that will cause problems
down the road.

This is a judgement call. IMHO, any potential problems on the SS end are easier to deal with than getting that EAD fixed.

Personally, I would go about getting the SS card as normal. Just make sure her name is spelled right on the SS application. Just in case someone at SS notices the one-letter typo, just explain what happened. Don't point it out to them.

That's pretty much what I thought. People get name changes on ss cards
all the time. The EAD is good until next year sometime and no doubt
she will have her green card by then.
Now I just need to find time to get to the local SSA office. I want to
hand deliver all the forms and supporting documents. Only problem is
the lazy <BLEEP? close at 4pm. Guess I'll just have to leave work
early next week.
