Default EAD .. any way to expedite?

Hiya =)

I have the very good possibility of a job offer (woohoo!!!!!) , but they are going to want me to start around Jan 1st, and I submitted for my EAD with my AOS package with an official receipt date of October 30th.

Is there some way it can be expedited if a job offer was dependant on getting it in time?

Thanks in advance,
Lee

I've never heard of that being done.

On the 91st day after your receipt date you should be able to get a walk in EAD at your local office (this would be end of Jan for you unfortunately).

Lee,

From what I recall... you are also filing from MD right? I just received my EAD last week... and from NOA Notice Date at the VSC to when I got my EAD it was 12 weeks... Pretty much the full 3 month time period they have for processing... I do hope it improves for you.

Good Luck!
Ian

You could always contact your local representative. It might not help but it probably couldn't hurt. I know someone who was close to the end of their 90 day EAD and they contacted their rep about two weeks before it expired and they got their new EAD with only a week to spare. They went through the Baltimore office. I don't know if this helps or not.

Thanks for the replies. I am still in shock at getting a phone interview this morning out of the blue (I sent a resume to this company a couple of weeks ago) It is a good company and an excellent job, I would just hate to lose the chance because of paperwork which is why I was asking if an expedition was possible.

Yes I am filing through Vermont with Baltimore, I guess, being the office I will have to go to for my EAD. For others that have filed at Vermont for this ...
1) Did the online status change from "we have received your application" before you had the interview
2) How long was it before you heard from Baltimore, or do VSC send you a NOA to say it is transferred to Baltimore?

All the best to you all!

Lee,

1) "On September 10, 2003, we transferred your I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION to our office in BALTIMORE, MD for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in BALTIMORE, MD will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

This is the current verbage on their site even AFTER I have the EAD Card in my wallet.

2) I received an NOA from VSC saying it was transferred to Baltimore on the 10th... VSC had Notice Date September 2. The next thing I heard from either VSC or Baltimore was that my AOS Interview is on Feb 11, 2004... and then a month later I got my invitation to visit the folks at CIS for my EAD.
