DS-230 Pt II
Quick question, does anyone know, on the DS-230 Pt II (the one you bring to the K1 interview) there is a place on there to check off if you want to apply for a Social Security Card and a release to check so that the USCIS can give your information to the Social Security office to give you a number. If you fill this out do you still have to go to Social Security to apply for a card or will one come in the mail automatically? I am wondering if anyone has done this and been given a SS#. If anyone knows I would be very interested in hearing about it.

That check box doesn't work for a K1, only for people applying for Immigrant Visas. When you get here you'll have to apply for a SSN at your local office.
