Default Does Bankruptcy have any bearing on being awarded a visa?

I hope I am correct in assuming that bankruptcy and/or other financial problems such as credit card defaults would not affect me getting a K3 or K1 visa. I checked with about 3 immigration lawyers and they said they didn't think it would be a problem especially in relation to a marriage based visa. It also occured to me to ask that if you are an "undischarged bankrupt" (being discharged typically takes about 12 months) is it still ok? ie can you still get a visa while you are undischarged? I'd be grateful for any advice on this. Thanks.

If you're not the USC, USCIS has little or no interest in your financial affairs. Bankruptcy will not affect your ability to get a visa.

Even if you ARE the USC, I don't think bankruptcy will mean an unsuccesful visa process.
