Does bankruptcy affect visa applications

Hi all,
My family are planning on moving to the US next year (my husband is a US citizen and wants to go back home). However, I have long run my own business that suffered a great deal during COVID. As a result, I stopped taking a salary, took out the UK government bounce back loan to retain employees after the furlough scheme ended and have also taken on a fair bit of personal debt.
If I can't make a financial recovery and am forced to declare myself bankrupt (I am personally liable for the business loan as a director of a limited company), then will this impact my visa application to the US?
Has anyone else applied for a visa after having been made bankrupt?
Thank you

No, your bankruptcy will not affect your visa application. I assume you are going for a marriage based immigrant visa? If so, the financial proof is all up to the USC. Take a look at form I-864.

To echo the above, no it will not have any recourse on immigration applications. If you are likely to be required to make payments to creditors as a result of the bankruptcy order, you may well want to make sure you keep open a UK account.
