I was DQ'ed recently too, and also waiting for an interview at London. Luckily London is one of the quicker ones, seems to be about 3 months from DQ date to interview from what I can gather. The last batch of interview letters went out on 27th/28th April, so you've just missed that one, but hopefully you'll get a letter in the next batch.

Good luck.

The interview scheduling is tied in with the allocation of immigrant visa numbers by the Visa Office of the State Department in Washington DC. (Although IR visa are numerically unrestricted, their numbers affects the other categories. That interrelation is end user transparent).

Since the visa number allocations are on the basis of calendar months within the Government Fiscal Year, they are handled on a batch basis by the VO. The scheduling process starts with the lists of documentarily qualified applicants as of the FIFTH day of the month. The applications pending stateside via adjustment of status are also cranked in to the process. Visa Office will also be aware of processing resources of each visa issuing post.

After all this information is processed, interviews are scheduled and notices are sent out for interviews for the following month. This happens in the last week of the month. Note that the interviews are, in high volume posts, spread out during the month.

If every thing lines up, notionally speaking, it takes at least six weeks. As a general rule, it will be at least two months, but often three. Do note there my be factors that can cause further delay, such as annual leave or rotation of Consular Officers.

So, you are looking at two to three months, if not more.

p.s. In Immigration-speak, acronyms can be important and are easy to mess up. (A very old immigration lawyer joke is the difference between a NIF and a NOF. but I digress).

In that light, a NIV is a non-immigrant visa. Your case is being processed by the National Visa Center, aka NVC.
