Do I need old evidence/forms for AOS interview
I do have a question which is probably a stupid one but do I need to bring any of my old documents from my K1 application eg., I-129 forms, police certificate, affidavit of support (I-134) for the AOS Interview?
I have it all ready in my folder but it is so thick I want to be able to thin it down a bit lol. This forum has been such a help to me from the start so I give thanks to you all :D |
Re: Do I need old evidence/forms for AOS interview
I just had my interview last week. I took a lot of time punching holes at the top of copies of everything and bound them all together with a metal filing clip. The officer was appalled when she saw all the paper and said she had most of it in her file already, so we had to search through it all to find the few pages she actually wanted. I would say that the best approach is to keep a copy with the original in your main file, as they want to see the original of anything they want a copy of, so easiest if they are together.
In my case they only took a copy of the deed to our house and the most recent tax return (filed it the day before the interview!). Oh, they also wanted the employment letter for my wife (she's the USC). They also took the I-693 vaccination supplement. Better to take more than you need, though... |

I know, I have a 3 inch binder and instead of slanting it's actually just straight because it's so packed! haha. I actually just took out all my originals and put them in a new folder so that my old one won't be as big. (I organize my folder by applications I sent off and the papers I sent along, so it's so big because I have duplicate photocopies of each of the papers that appear throughout the folder) |
