Do I need new EAD?
My AOS interview is in January and my EAD expires in April. Should I file for a new
EAD or will my AOS interview process somehow cover my work authorization?

Presuming that you get a green card stamp prior to April, you do not need to renew
your EAD card. Generally, if you pass the interview, you either get it then, or
within a month or two afterward (if they have to do security check)
