Hello Immigration Gurus...

I am on H1B. I recently got my 7th year extension along with my
wife's H4 extension. I am joining a different company because that
company is willing to substitue preapproved labor for me.

New company will file my H1B in few days. Since my wife has H4 visa
valid until next year from my old company do I need to file H4 for her
again through the new company?

How will it affect during 485 stage if I don't file H4 for her through
new company?

Hey, I don't think you need to file a new H-4 application each time you change employers on an H-1B visa. Your wifes H-4 is not employer specific. She has got derivative status from you hence, as long as you maintain valid status and she has a valid visa, I think she is safe.

Thanks Michelle. How about when I have to file 485 for me and add her
to that stage. Is it ok to have a H4 from old company?
