This forum is for immigration purposes only. For divorce steps in the USA, you'll have to look elsewhere. Your best bet is to consult with a divorce attorney.

When the divorce is final, you can submit an I-751 with waiver to begin the process to remove conditions and receive your 10-year green card. It's not a conversion, it's removal of conditions.

You will probably need to also speak to an immigration attorney to help you with the I-751 with waiver, to make sure you have a solid submittal.

If the time comes to file the I-751 and the divorce is not final yet, file anyway, with proof that you've begun the divorce process.

Divorce is a family law subject that needs to be addressed on its own.

If you are a Permanent Resident, you will also have to look at the potential to 'remove conditions' under a waiver of the joint filing requirement.
