i am currently going throught difficult decisions and was wondering if somebody can give me advice.i am british and wife us citizen.my wife came over on 2 year dependant visa.we are married more then 2 years.i know that the ir1 visa will be applicable to me.

my situation is as follow my wife left the uk 6 months ago and went back to the states for personal reasons.she has no intentions to came back to the uk so that route is closed.i am in permanent work and she is staying with family.the state of affairs her back at home is she try to get on state programs etc but because i am working over here regardless they will count my income as they look at it i am working full time.i am familar wit the visa process to states.

for immigration purposes to the united states we do not have enough savings and the co sponsors might be a problem.the unemployment overall in her state is high so for the rest of the united states.we were talk in lenght about this she wants to study further for 2 years.we got married in the uk.

what will happen if we got divorce and then 3 years wanna move to the states remarried.then she can get on state programs my income will not count.my big concern is that i will have get married in the states which will be k1 visa but the us immigration might question all of this very firm.my goal is that will be save more for my affadivils of support i know there is guideline for a 2 people.

any inputs wellcome i at this stage i do not know what to do further.many thanks.my english is not very good i hope my sentences make sense.

Consult an experienced immigration attorney, this is way beyond a laymens forum.

I understand your plan. Speak to an immigration attorney. People get divorced and remarried for all sort of purposes...check with an attorney to see if your purpose for divorce will cause red flags with immigration (yes, it might...but check with a professional).

Just so you know, you don't have to do a K-1 visa if you follow your plan. You can get married anywhere in the world and then do an IR-1 visa.
