I have been married for over 4 years ( since 2001 ). I applied for the
green card in February 2005 and have yet to hear from immigration
regards an interview although I have received permission to work. Since
I applied I have seperated from my wife as I found out that she was
cheating on me. Recently we have been talking about a reconciliation but
I have found out that she is cheating on me again with the same guy.
Without turning this into an agony aunt corner I need to get away from
this woman for the sake of my sanity. We married for love but it happens
!! Anyway does anyone know what will happen to my status with the green
card if I file for divorce? Any suggestions greatly receieved. Cheers

You basically have four choices:
- - Reconcile with your wife.
- - At the interview, tell the officer that you no longer want a Green Card
and are leaving the USA.
- - Just leave the USA and don't even show up for the interview. The case will
then be administratively closed.
- - Write a letter to USCIS, withdrawing your AOS, and leaving the USA.
