Direct Mail instrcutions - I485
Hi everyone,
I am naturalized since yesterday... hurahhh!! Not losing any time I
started to execute my new rights as a US citizen and began pulling
together the GC application for my wife. Motivated and energized I am
collecting all forms and as the hours go by I am losing my momentum.
Now I am confused by the Direct Mail instructions that are printed on
the I-485. It appears that residents of New York are supposed to mail
to a facility in Chicago. Until I read this I assumed that I have to
send everything together (I-130, I-485, G-325A.....) to the Vermont
Service Center. This at least was suggested within the step-by-step for
the I-130 along with all other forms. Since I intended to file the
I-130 and the I-485 concurrently I am not sure what to do now.
I am wondering where do I have to send the filled out documents?
1.) Vermont Service Center?
2.) Chicago Service Center?
3.) I-130 to Vermont and I-485 to Chicago?
Thanks
Stefan

To the best of my knowledge all petitions such as yours are sent to the
Chicago facility. That started early last year. It is (was) a part of
their efficiency improvement process.
You should be sure to read the instructions on the I-485 form section
of the forms/fees page of the USCIS web site. The supporting and
related documentation and forms (I-130, ..., employment/travel) are
submitted together with the I-485.
<http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-485.htm#filing>
By the way, effective on the 23rd, there some special instructions for
certain district offices, as may be seen in the page reference.
Congratulations on your naturalization.
