Default Direct Consulate Filing is the WAY TO GO!!

For any of you thinking of which way is best, the I130 filed in the US, or
the K3 process, Just file DCF direct at the consulate in the country of your
spouse if that is possible. I filed three ways. and the DCF is approved in
47 days from beginning Aug 8 to Sept 24.

We filed in Amsterdam!!!!! It is done !! FINALLY!!>>and we still wait for
that lovely K3 and the I130 from Texas...lol..perhaps i should tell them to
cancel? so another one of my waiting US friends can have theirs!! I will
call tomorrow! GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!! This site has been very helpful!! If
you want to see me and my Jacob, go to
www.usadutch.com We are listed there
as Jacob and Cindy!!!!!

What do you mean "I filed three ways"?
Are you saying you actually made additional workload for INS, thus
slowing other
people down?

Ugh. Kind of wishing I would have went the DCF route as well. I'm on day 106 of the K1 process. My fiance will be doing his interview in Amsterdam. Hopefully it wont be too much longer. I don't want to bag all the hard work and waiting we've already put in.

Congrats to you and Jacob!

No, Michael.....the INS made more work for THEM.
1--They filed I-130 in USA and waited....nothing
2--so then filed K-3 and waited .....nothing
3--then filed DCF in the Netherlands and 47 calendar days later, visa in his
hand.

Those from the Netherlands are very fortunate that the USC can visit Holland
and file DCF . I only know of Belgium and Spain doing this method (without
a residency requirement) faster.

you can still change your mind. There are lots of advantages of the DCF
procedure.
Read 'other couples' on our website to get an idea of how others went about
fitting the INS rules into their plans. It all depends upon what you want.
What alot of DutchAmerican couples have been doing lately is getting married
in the USA(Dutchie enters on a tourist visa) with the US relatives. Having
the paperwork ready and together filing DCF in Amsterdam right after the
marriage. Then having the Dutch family reception and spending a wonderful
European honeymoon together(as much time as the USC work allows) because the
Dutchie will have to wait in NL for the 45-50 days for the visa.
However, s/he then enters the good ole USA with full work and travel
authorization.
walla....done deal....you can actually have a life without waiting on the
INS.

veel geluk,
Eileen
