With all of the delays with K1s and K3s these days, isn't the DCF in the countries
that allow this the answer to the problem of exteme delays? Is there any reason not
to do a DCF, if you can?? I'd appreciate any thoughts on this subject...

We did a DCF in South Africa that was approved in 34 days. IMHO, it is without a doubt the best route for those countries that will process it without a residency requirement for the USC...Doing your homework and making sure you have all your documents up front can vastly shorten the process. Have a look at the Docsteen site under the DCF icons, tis a wealth of information......

I didn't realise this varied from country to country, to file in London the USC has to have resident status.

Not only does it vary, but it is changeable. In Canada, you can't DCF at all. A non
resident USC used to be able to DCF in Russia, but that ended in the past year.
