Hi everyone,
Here's my husband and I's story so far:
January 30: married in Nice, France
February 13: Filed I-130, etc. for DCF in Paris (yes, the do accept
DCF from non-resident USC's as of that date)
February 19: Letter received with medical info but no interview date
even though the letter stated it was enclosed
February 24: Faxed embassy asking if we were missing the letter with
the interview date
February 26: Embassy notifies my husband there has been a "hit" on
his name in the FBI database (probably because he had been refused
entry on WVPP last September) and he needs to come back for
fingerprinting.
March 5: My husband gets his medical exam done by Dr. Slattery, but
misses the narrow window of time when he could have gotten prints
done.
March 12: Husband returns to Paris to get prints done. They take
several sets "just in case some are bad", he pays $85 and they tell
him it may take up to 2 or 3 months to get the results back. *sigh*
March 15: I fax the embassy asking if it would be possible for him to
go ahead and have his interview the week of April 19 since I will be
in town and could come with him. In the fax I noted that we realized
they can't issue the visa until the print results come back, but we're
hoping this will reduce the wait time until an interview is available
once the prints return.
March 22: Husband gets his interview letter for April 20, no mention
of the prints, but I'm calling the FBI hotline to check weekly until
then.
Maybe we'll get a miracle and the fingerprint results will come back
by then but I'm not holding my breath. It will be interesting to see
if this way does in fact cut a week or 2 off the wait. It's a pain
for him to have to go back to Paris to get the stamp, but I think it's
worth the stress relief to have the interview over with and I can go
with him for moral support.
Hope this info helps someone![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

That's pretty decent of them to give you an interview date in the requested timeframe
. It was interesting reading. Hope things will go smoothly for you.... and FWIW I think I would have done the same as you. Good luck!

Thanks for that message, that reply gave me so much hope I called the
FBI number to see if they had gotten his prints yet... and sure
enough, they were received and processed yesterday (12 days after they
were taken)!! Hopefully he'll be able to get his visa at the
interview on the 20th of April and fly back with me!
