Our case was expedited as my husband was in the USAF and his Commander heard about us doing the visa process and suggested that he send an expedite request for us. We weren't going to say no so we accepted and he wrote a letter to the US Embassy for us. We were just extremely lucky as they didn't HAVE to approve the expedite, but did.

I think that's great. People serving in the military and their families deserve it. Good luck on your interview!

Wow - well its great for you that you're nearly at the final hurdle - it must feel great! Although you've got through it quicker than most, it must have still felt like a really long wait for you. I would be interested to hear how your interview goes :-)

Watching the Embassy clock count down for all these months, is like the race being aborted after you've won it.

Yeah, it feels a long and frustrating process, especially if your life is on hold while you wait. But hey, its got to be worth it in the end right

Gosh! this case number thing is a bit of a lottery as well. I was thinking 8th July seemed a long wait for the medical, but of course much of June is gone already. Good luck everyone.

Yes it's a shame we've got to wait another fortnight for the medical, but at least I have a date now and things are progressing! The case number was at the bottom of the same letter telling me I had been approved so Im surprised others haven't received them together also??

Hey snap Whitebear

Congratulations you 2 . I applied Feb 8th, at what point should I start pestering the Embassy for an update? I changed address a month or 2 ago and sent a letter to the embassy letting them know but I have this bad feeling that they're going to send the paperwork to the empty property!

Perhaps you could just call and check your new address is logged? I must admit I set up a 're-direct' with the Post Office last month for the same reason, that I didn't want the letter going to the old address. Cost me £30 approx. but was easy to do on-line and was in effect after a couple of days. But as it happened the letter came to my new address anyway...

Hope you hear soon too

Hi all,

Just an update to add to the group: I filed Feb 3, got an email confirmation of petition being approved on June 1 and was told that I would get a case # within the week, but no written confirmation or case number yet...I have emailed USCIS and LondonConsular, who both say it could be a further couple of weeks. Ho hum. Left hand doesn't seem to know what the right is up to as far as I can see.

Still waiting...
Rob
