DCF in Brazil
Wondering if anyone has current information on processing times for DCF in
Brazil? I submitted the I-130 at the consulate's office in Recife and got
what I think is the standard response of "3-4 months, maybe less" until the
interview in Rio and was wondering if anyone else has completed this process
lately?
My experience was that the personnel at the consulate's office were very
helpful in getting this application submitted and I am thinking that their
response was a "canned" response and thought that I had heard back in
December that some were getting through the process as quickly as 5 weeks.
We got married on 3/18 and I submitted the I-130 on 3/25. What are the
issues with her going back and forth between here and Brazil after she gets
the CR-1 approval? Are there any specific requiements for her to be in the
states a specific amount of time over the next two years in order to get the
conditional status removed?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Re: DCF in Brazil
Hello Mark
My friend has her interview next week and she applied in February.
I never saw a process take over 3 months here in Brazil.
There aren't any issues with her going back and forth after the CR-1
approval.
She can work and travel anytime, but I think she can't be absent from
the States for too long, just don't know the exact time.
Hope this helps,
Simone (BR) and Michael (US)

Re: DCF in Brazil
Thanks Simone. I am hoping that she gets her interview as quickly as your
friend. It would be nice if she was able to get up here in June sometime.
We are both anxiously waiting and am glad to be finished with the marriage
process in Brazil that took 3 months to complete and to have the DCF process
started. The hard part is over and now it is just the "wait".
Talk again soon.
Thanks
Mark

Re: DCF in Brazil
have you gotten married already? what is the news you hear on the DCF now?
i got married may 3rd in the cartorio and submitted my petition on may 4th. now we are waiting for packet 3 from rio de janeiro.
when does the FBI check take place? after the papers are received in RIO or when they receive packet 3 back?
any info you have, let me know. do you know what the processing time of the DCF is?
thanks.
