As some of you may know, I petitioned my over 21 daughter in June 2005. Her petition has now been approved and although I know we still have a long wait ahead of us for a visa number to be available, I just wanted to share my news with those who understand!

Hi:

How old was she when you FILED the petition? This can be important.

Hi Mr F

She was 23 when we filed the petition. It took over 2 years for my spousal I-130 to get approved which is why I came on a K3. She was also over 18 when we were married but a couple of months shy of 21. Just bad timing and a total lack of understanding, on our part, of the US immigration system.

Our time will come eventually.

Thanks JG. Yes, another step closer even if it takes a few more years yet. I am visiting UK in a couple of weeks to spend time with her and my parents.

Bear Hugs, Maggs

It will be finalized one day in the future and you will have her at least on the same continent. Now tell her not to get married or anything. Believe that will make the wait longer since it is a USC petitioning for her.

Hi Rete

I used to keep reminding her that if she gets married it will take longer but she is now 27 so I don't tell her too often any more. She is nowhere near ready to settle down anyway and is planning another traveling trip to Australia and New Zealand for next year.

Thanks for the hugs
