Date of Adjudication and date of AOS approval

HI group,
I have a simple question. Let us assume that Mr X filed for AOS based
on marriage to USC on 12/01. INS called for interview in 8/02. They
sent AOS approval letter in 10/02. Do They set adjudication date =
date of filing AOS = 12/01. If not, INS sucks. Any comments

Why would you assume that the adjudication date would be the date of filing? It would be the date of approval of the AOS which is on the letter you received on the 2nd of October.
It would took this Mr. X nine months of successfully adjust. Some of us have taken years.
