Default Custody of children and permission!!

There must be someone out ther that can help me!!!... I am an English woman living in Spain, and waiting for our IO-129F to be approved,, we seem to have been waiting forever now,, I have just been told that I might need to get a letter of permission to take my children out of the country, from my ex husband..
I have a court order that give me the sole custody of the kids and it also states that they have to remain with me,, and that the father has visiting rights. and as he works offshore for 4 weeks at a time he is meant to call me and arrange times for him to see the kids..
he will not give me the letter of permission I know this before I even ask him... I diovorced him because he was a contolling Bu8lly,, and to ask him now for this letter will give him back the control over my life... What do I do next????!!!! I asked my solicitor so many time if he could stop me going and he told me No not as long as I suppliy him with an address and a contact phone numbetr which I have given tio teh solictor already..

can anyone suggest anything to me-... will the embassy accept a letter of explaination from my solicitor???,, or can I get6 letters from friends and family to explain the situation???

i had to take my husband to court for a court order, he tried to take me to court to stop me from taking my kids out of the country, i had to surrender their passports, unless you can do this amicably, then court maybe your only option, he would not give me a letter to say i could take my kids out of the country, i dont know in your situation what is the best thing to do, i can only say what happenned in my case, but now i have a court order and their passports back, so he cant stop me from taking them. Maybe someone may be able to tell you what you actually need for certain.... Goodluck

If he will not give permission, then you need to see what else you can
do.
We can't tell you whether or not letters from friends are enough. In my
view, I am hoping it requires more than that. (Nothing personal with you
and him, but the idea in general)

It would seem that you should go to court and see if the court will
grant permission. This way, he can state HIS view on the matter and be
fairly treated in the decision.
My suggestion is to contact an attorney or contact the consulate to see
what they will accept.
In addition to what the consulate will accept for granting the visa, you
also need to check to determine what the country requires in order for
you to depart it with the children. I know that many countries require
permission of both parents. This might also be a problem when traveling
in the future. I know the subject was brought up at the Italian
consulate when my wife and daughter (Russian) applied for a Schengen to
visit Italy and France.

I have the same problem, though mine lies with the Ukraine courts. My
fiancé's x-husband is now a criminal scum bag.
Can counterfeit (great fakes) documents be gotten? paying off someone?

Thanks,
