Your appointment time is not for a hard-and-fast slot. When you get to the Embassy you'll be given a number and you wait for it to be called, so you don't have to be there absolutely at 9.30 on the dot, but the closer or slightly earlier than that time that you can get there, the less you'll have to wait for other people ahead of you. Don't forget to drop off any electronics at Gould's if you have them.

Depending on how far you're coming from, it may be cheaper for you to get a cheap off-peak ticket to London for travel down on the Sunday and stay overnight in a cheap hotel as walk-up peak train fares to London from any distance can be insanely expensive.

If you're missing any docs the ConOff requires, then they'll ask you to mail them and defer issuing the visa until they see them. If that happens, most likely you'll get your passport back and they'll give you instructions to courier the passport to them for the visa once the documents have been received and processed.

Just to clarify, you say you received an email today and your interview is just a few days later? Did you not get more advance notice than that? I thought interviews were usually around a month after receiving a letter

edit:is it due to you expediting the process?

My petition was Expedited through the USCIS, when it reached the National Visa center we requested another expedite, both where granted, when the Embassy recieved the petition, I sent my DS-230 and DS-2001. the cover letter stated that my pettition had been expedited, and I requested an expedited Interview date. once I had conformation from the Department of state that my medical had been recieved by the consulate I sent an email to them reminding them of my expedite request, their reply contained my interview date, and instuctions to print the email out, and take it with me to the embassy if I have not recieved written conformation in time.

In my email I told them that I was immediently available for an interview at short notice, and to keep me in consideration for any cancelations.

I was a little shocked at only receiveing 4 days notice, as I was waiting for my joint sponsors most recent paystub, if I dont have it tomorrow or saturday, I guess I will hope the one for the end of febuary will do.

Yes that was very short notice. But it shows they take expedite requests seriously!
