I am Canadian, and my wife to be is American. We wish to get married this summer. But
I need to be able to come back to Canada to still work.
I cannot sit there and not be allowed to work and have her support me, I
just am not like that. What steps should I take once we get married to insure that I
can still come back and forth from the US and still be legal. Also some of us were
talking and just wondering if a person filed
for Bankruptcy , would they be declined and type of status that would be
required to enter the US to marry?

Barry,
What you want to do is file for travel permission and work permission the green card
papaerwork is filed. Once approved, that allows you to travelk and work while the
green card papaerwork is pending. After filing the papaerwork, you cannot travel
until your travel permission (advanced parole) is approved.
As long as your spouse is signing off on the affidavit of support, your bankruptcy
filing should not pose any problems.
