I am Canadian, and my wife to be is American. We wish to get married this summer. But
I need to be able to come back to Canada to still work. I cannot sit there and not be
allowed to work and have her support me, I just am not like that. What steps should I
take once we get married to insure that I can still come back and forth from the US
and still be legal. Also some of us were talking and just wondering if a person filed
for Bankruptcy , would they be declined and type of status that would be required to
enter the US to marry?

Congratulations on the engagement![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you have not researched the type of marriage based visa's available, I suggest Doc
Steen's site (below), which will give you some great information on your options.
I wish I could sum it up for you in a sentance or two, but it's a bit more complex
and variable than that.
As for bankruptcy, the INS only cares about the USC, not you, so you would not be
declined for this reason.
I'm sure the site, as well as researching the threads here, will give you quite a bit
of the information you are seeking.
Once you have a clearer idea of how you will proceed, ask the specifics here. There
is always someone who has done it or who knows the best way to do it![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
