Postings like this were invaluable when I was getting my things ready to submit; for
those of you who are about to begin the process, here is a portion of the cover
letter for my initial 129f submission. I included a brief paragraph detailing how I
met my fiancee, then listed the contents, in order:
-the cover letter itself -personal check for the application fee -a sealed envelope
containing 2 ADIT-style photos each of myself and my fiancee -an official copy of my
birth certificate -the I129F form -form G325A, (with addendum to account for
additional work experience) for me -form G325A for my fiancee -letters of intent to
marry from each of us -letter describing in detail how we met and listing the
supporting evidence -the supporting evidence: 2 photos of us together, envelopes
from letters that my fiancee sent, copies of emails we'd sent each other, and
printouts of calls made using a PC-to-phone service
I signed and dated the letter, including my SS number and the words "I-129F ORIGINAL
SUBMISSION". I did NOT use Acco clips or even punch any holes in the documents--I
used the low-tech approach and simply used paper clips. If I had to do it over
again, I would have changed a couple of things--the pictures my fiancee sent did not
have a white background, but rather light blue. I spent a lot of time worrying about
that, and I had read about a previous petitioner who had submitted envelopes as
supporting evidence rather than actual letters. It seemed like a good idea at the
time, but I also spent a lot of time worrying about that. As it turns out, we had
absolutely no problems aside from the length of the wait (125 days). Good luck to
all who are about to begin the process!
