Hi all: I am on H-1b right now. I and my wife have interview at US consulate abroad
for immigrant visa (Consular Processing based on employment related I-140). My wife
is in the middle of her semester, so very reluctant to go for the interview. She came
to US in 98 on H4 and is on F1 right now. Is there any way I can go alone for the
interview, and somehow include her in the process? If I go alone, what options will
she have later based on my petition?
TIA. -rabi

Your wife can "follow to join," that is, arrange for her consular immigrant visa
interview to occur later than your interview.
You and she should call and write the consulate, and ask to arrange for a later
interview date for her.
The consulate must begin its own arrangements for her interview about two months
before the interview, because of the timing of asking for a "visa number" from the
State Department.
