Yes per month. I live in New York City. It could be cheaper in other parts of the country though. Since I am in the bar/restaurant usiness and my other job is as a sales consultant I don't get insurance through my employers. It may sound like a lot of money to some people but if you look on most insurance company sights it's pretty reasonable. I was insured with Empire a few years back. If I used them now it would be over $700 just for me a month! Obviously if you get insured by an employer you would be in a group plan and it should cost you less but with the rising cost of insurance (and everything else) these days you never know. It's a much bigger risk not to be insured. I had to go to the emergeny room last year and only had a $50 co-pyment. The stement which showed the actual cost was over $1300!

If they do ask for most recent 6 months worth of paystubs, just give them the 6 most recent ones, stating that she does not receive a paycheck during the summer months.

Who is suppose to ask you for six months of paystubs? One or two should be sufficient and that is pay check not month.

It is more likely that they will ask for a W-2.

Antlantis looks like sort of a broker for the major insurance companies (unless I found the wrong site).

But again, I would wonder if they require permanent residency and/or 6 months in the country. The other poster would need to find the fine print of the policy.

I was once told that it was nearly impossible to find individual insurance for a K-1.

They're an inssurance company. http://atlantishp.com/. I bought insurance from them directly. I don't need a referal for a specialist. My copayments are $20 for any doctor or specialist and $10 for generic drugs and $25 for brand name. I NYC they also have their own office and if I see a doctor there it's free.

It would depend upon the company.

But everything I found required permanent residency (green card) or 6 months in the country. If you've found one that doesn't, that's terrific.

I'm not sure if they do or not. I would hate for mY fiancce not to be insured though! It's too much of risk here!

Perhaps you'll be lucky and they will.

After AOS and he gets his green card (and/or has been here a while) most will.

This wone will accept him immediately - it's intended for people staying long periods in the US. It doesn't require the trip to being and end in the UK like travel insurance (so they said anyway). Can't tell you if they are any good, and the will not cover pre-existing medical conditions
