Citizenship question

I just received my 10yr green card after having my i751 approved. I have been a resident through marriage since oct 2012. I know that you can get citizenship after 3 yrs of residency through marriage but is this still the case if my USC wife and I are divorced?

If you are divorced before the 3 years, you can still apply for citizenship after 5 years PR. I did this. I waited more like 8 years, getting more money's worth out of the 10 year GC.

No, you'll have to wait now until you've been a PR for 5 years.

What she said. You need to still be married at the time of application for the three years to be applicable. Note: you can actually submit your application 90 days ahead of the three/ five year date. :)

Fair point. :o ..... Thinking of the circumstances of one of our most respected BE members, I expect there have been some interesting arguments about what "marital union" actually means. (?)
