Children on Immigrant Visa Petition

Just a quick question - to put my mind at rest as we are already quite far down the application process...... its just something that has been bugging me!
My USC spouse completed separate I130's for myself and my 2 UKC children (both aged 10), which obviously meant that we have had 3 sets of fee's payable for everything. On the I864, there is a section that asks you to list any other accompanying family members to be included, with the exception of those listed on separate petitions.
Could we have just put the children down on my petition or did they need their own for their immigrant visa's?

They require their own visas. If you were married to a LPR then the children would coattail on your IR visa. This is not available to USC, however, and they need their own IR visa.
