is there a way to check the status of a k-1 visa without getting back the 1st NOA?

i had sent the visa application and they received it on March 14, but i haven't
received the 1st notification yet. waiting makes me quite anxious and i would like
to know if they are processing it. i checked my bank and the check hasn't been
cashed yet.

I wouldn't worry just yet. They didn't cash my check until about a week or two after
I received my first NOA. I mailed my petition out on Jan 29 and received my NOA on
Feb 11. The receipt was dated for Feb 1.
