check H1B's status
I got laid off and not sure if my employer has reported to INS about the
termination of my H1B. Can anyone tell me how I can check my H1B's status in
INS?

The day you were laid off you became out of status. The employer reporting
that you were laid off is merely a formality. Even if INS still reported
your H1 as being valid, you no longer work for the company and cannot
legally stay in the US, unless you change to another nonimmigrant status
(difficult) find another job to sponsor you really soon (probably difficult
too) or find a way to adjust status.
