ChDaun331's questions re I-864 Affidavit of Support
I have a question with regards to the poverty guidelines. The Support Affidavit has stated "The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s)." For the first year of residency, my wife and I intend to live with her daughter, at her parents house, making it a house hold of 5 people. Does the poverty guide line there for state we must meet the requirement for a house hold of 5 people, even though we will not be taking into account her parents income as potential sponsors? or does this translate to the poverty guideline of how many people my wife will have to support, therefore a house hold guideline of 3 people? If I have this wrong can someone please explains the affidavit of support and its poverty guidelines, so we can work out which form is best to submit.
much apppreciated.

Hi D,
I started a new thread for your specific questions.
I didn't quite understand your scenario. Is your USC wife living in the USA and earning enough income on her own, without needing a joint sponsor?
Is the daughter an adult, earning her own income, or does your wife still support her or claim her as dependent on her tax return?

Re: ChDaun331's questions re I-864 Affidavit of Support
Yes my Wife is the USC and so is her Daughter. The confusion I am having is from the requirements of the poverty guideline and the number of people in the household. At the home, there will be 5 people, my wife, her daughter, her parents and myself. On the I864P it states a household of 5 people need an income of $36,775. But My wife is only financially responsible for her daughter and myself as the beneficiary, not her parents, so in essence of that, is the household income for the affidavit of support now only calculated on 3 people in the household rather than 5?
Were just trying to work out what form and which evidence is suitable to correctly handle the affidavit stage.

There is only one form, the I-864.
if your wife still supports her daughter financially, then her household size will be 3. Herself, her daughter, and you.

Oh right, The table showing multiple I864's on the NVC website is obviously confusing me. I864W I864EZ Etc?

Ah okay thats great thank you.
We have an approved petition on our CR1 I130 (approval letter received 6th June) USCIS website says it was moved to the DOS on the 21st June, currently awaiting notice from the NVC on what to do next, expecting that at anytime now.
I was working, but sadly just been made redundant 2 weeks ago here in the UK. I will be out of work for a short time once I arrive in the US but we have things lined up through a family business on her side to get us on our feet.

She may be able to use the I-864EZ, she'll have to read the instructions to see if she qualifies.

So just to be clear, your wife currently works in the USA and has income above the 125% column shown in the I-864P for a family of 3, correct?

Hi sorry to be a nuisance, can someone help list all the documentation that my wife needs to submit for the financial support / affidavit of support?
We received our NVC welcome email on friday, but we cannot log into the CEAC as it is currently down for maintenance, I cant seem to find a simple answer or a simple list online.

Currently working my way through the DS260 and have come across question: In which occupation do you intend to work in the U.S.?
I have no idea what I intend to do currently. Would I be best to Put "Other" andexplains as "Undecided"?
