Changing Address during AOS

Does anyone have experience of procedures when you've changed to a
new address out of State during the AOS process?
I've notified the various INS agencies following a change, and assumed that
the original processing center will pass files etc to the one covering my
new address, and I will then get informed where and how to continue with my
original EAD and AOS applications etc. Is this how the system works?
Also, will an address change mean my application losing ground and getting
placed back in the line, or do these things all vary from one part of the
USA to another?
Advice appreciated

I would expect for them to move your file, but it probably takes time. Hopefully someone will be able to give you a detailed answer.
I moved recently to a different part of town, still under the same district office. I can't say the experience with the USCIS updating my address was good. There are a couple of recent threads about this:

Thanks for the threads.. very useful
Sounds like a lot of people have a problem knowing what's happening after
sending in an AR-11.
I've had an EAD sent to my old address despite notifying of a change.
Yet my (US) wife's Sponser notification was acknowledged within days to the
new correct address. Weird!
I'm just hoping to know where to apply for the EAD renewal when it becomes
due.
