A Canadian citizen marrying an American citizen

I am a Canadian citizen who will be marrying an American citizen next month. As a
dentist, I had worked in the US for past two years under TN status.
I DO NOT wish to immigrate to the US due to the complexities of the procedure and the
length of time it takes. However, I wish to continue working in the US under TN visa.
I would like to know if marrying a US citizen would affect my ability to obtain a TN
work permit in any way. I am asking this question because an officer at the American
consulate mentioned that I MIGHT get into trouble at the border.... (She didn't seem
to know what she was talking about...)
Thanks in advance.

The only trouble you may encounter is if they question your non-immigrant intent. As
you know, the TN is a temporary status, and the person cannot have the intent to
permanenetly stay in the U.S. if applying for a TN. That is what they call the dual
intent problem.
I do not think you should have a problem because it usually does not come up whether
you have a U.S. citizen husband when applying for a TN. Also, it should be clear you
do not have a permanent inetent if you do not wish to pursue a green card through
your marriage.
I have handled TN's for spouses of U.S. citizens, and so far have had no trouble
because the issue neever comes up.

I am personally aware of a case in which a TN holder was refused entry to the U.S.
because she was married to a U.S. permanent resident. She was simply re-entering the
U.S. from Canada, not asking for a new period of TN status. No immmigrant petition
had been filed on her behalf. This happened last fall.
You may simply be forced to obtain U.S. permanent resident status if you really wish
to continue to work in the U.S. indefinitely. Each TN entry is supposed to be a
temporary entry, and after awhile, the INS officers start hassling you and
questioning you more and more.

Otherwise, the spouse visa isn't hard to get, it just takes a few forms and one interview/medical.

Just a thought, getting a green card via marriage isn't really that complex, once you get the application submitted, the hard part is over, and you have until your TN runs out to do it (you have to have your notice of receipt before your TN runs out). Once thats finished, it is more or less a waiting game, an interview and viola!
I just went through the whole process, so if you have any questions, maybe I can help.

I am an American citizen madly in love with a Canadian citizen. Does anyone know the ins and outs of getting my fiancee a greencard/visa/whatever so she can move here and marry me?

Odd. I never saw them (but have before at the end of her posts)
I think you mean website URLs, not email addresses (?)

I don't see any problems. As a Canadian citizen, she is
automatically entitled to a 6-month visitor visa in USA
just by showing her passport at the border. Of course,
she can't work until she becomes PR or gets a work
permit.
Ask her to come over, get married, then apply for
immigration as a spouce of a US citizen. It will be
fast cos' there's no waiting period for spouses.
She would get a 'conditional' green card in a
few months time. After you've been married for
2 years, she can apply to get 'conditional'
stamp removed and become full permanent
resident (PR). After 5 years as PR, she
can become US citizen, or get US/Canadian
dual citizenship.

On second thoughts, it may be better for you
to be married in Canada, then apply for wife's
immigration to US. Sometimes they (US immig)
don't like people coming to US as visitor and
getting married. However, I don't think they can
cause much trouble since you're a US citizen.

I am a Canadian citizen planning to move to the US but have met and plan to marry an American citizen (not prior to moving at this point). He wants to get married in Canada. What rights and priviledges will he have if we are married here and then relocate to the US?

The key is proving you got married with genuine
intentions, not just to get US green card for spouse.
If you can convince them of that, you should be OK.
