I am filing form I-864 to sponsor my wife. Since my income doesn't meet
the appropriate poverty line, is that ok if my wife submits another
I-846 (she has been working since July 2004)? Does her income have to
be above 125 percent of poverty line requirements?
Last year her income and mine was around $20,000. This year will be
around $40,000. I wonder if that 's enough. Do I need a joint
sponsor?
Thanks

If your wife has been living with you for at least 6 months, you can use combined income on the I-864. The combined total must be 125% or above, the poverty line requirement. Your wife will complete an I-864A if her income is used.
Best Wishes,
Rene

I thought the 6 months period is applied for Fiance Visa. I have been
married to my wife for about 3 months. I wonder if it's applied for my
case too?
thanks

I thought the 6 month rules only applies for Fiance Visa. We have been
married and live together for 3 months. I wonder if it applies for my
case too.
Thanks

This applies to any case using the I-864 Affidavit of Support.
