I am going through the same process..my receipt date is 6/25/2001. I was told by my
attorney that edujucation starts in 20-30 days and it could sit in the INS for 3-4
months and then go to the American Embassy in Moscow [my fiancee' is Russian] where
it could sit for 3-4 months and then have an embassy interview.
You might want to check out/subscribe about Russian life in California at one of the
Yahoo! clubs. I don't know how far you are from San Francisco [I live in San Jose]
but there's a large Russian community in SF, Palo Alto and a orthodox church in
Saratoga that I am going to investigate before I meet my fiancee' in NY.

Here is the source that helped me most:
http://www.wkh.org/k-1visa/csc4.htm
It took Eddie and me less than 2 months from the time they received the package until
we got our 2nd NOA. I know that things have slowed a bit, but 3-4 months seems like a
long time for the CSC. Good Luck.
