I am an American citizen who just married an Iranian national during the month of
December. I am back in the States, and she is still there, of course. Please tell me
what would be the easiest and fastest way to apply for her to come here. I heard
there is now a modification to the fiancee' application (K3) to reunite the spouses.
Is this true? It may be listed under the Life Act? Please help. Thank
you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If speed is the first consideration, you can file directly in person at the US
consulate in Ankara for a spouse visa for her (I-130), and this will be the quickest
way BY FAR. You are probably looking at 3 months, maybe a lot less. The consulate can
tell you approximately how long. See the Ankara consulate website for more
information, there is very detailed info there on the procedure:
http://www.usemb-ankara.org.tr/Consular/iv.htm One thing that makes this quicker is
that police certificates are not available for iran, so that is one less hurdle to
cross. You would have to go to Ankara to file the I-130, but only your iranian spouse
would have to attend the final interview. Your spouse would enter the US fully
adjusted to conditional resident status. Alvena
