Default birth certificate of co-sponsor required? Anyone have a definitive answer?

i saw a previous thread about this and two people answered with opposing
opinions. Would someone with a definitive answer reply?

at my K1 interview when i presented the I-134, my fiancé was my only sponsor. i
didn't need his birth certificate. it's not on any of the required lists. so i
can't imagine why they would ask for a co-sponsor's birth certificate... i
would have thought if it was a requirement to produce co-sponsors' birth
certificates it would show up on the checklist.
