Default Biometrics Notice

Hello,
My husband (UKC) is participating the DORA program for green card
processing. We recently received a NOA from Lee's Summit stating he
needed to go in on a specific day and time to the biometrics office to
have that taken, and failure to show up at that specific date and time
(10/21 @ 1 pm) would result in a delay in processing. Yesterday, we
received a notice from the Dallas office stating that we needed to go
in for biometrics any time before 11/3 at any of the three local
biometrics offices. We are assuming we only need to go in once to have
this done, but it seems like Dallas and Lee's Summit offices are on two
different wavelenghts? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks for your help!
Marie

Yes, you only need to go once.
I had the same letter telling me I needed to get my biometrics done by a certain date. The only difference in my case was that I never received the NOA for the I-485. The letter actually arrived three days after my biometrics appointment, so I just ignored it!
I think it's something they send out automatically if they haven't received your biometric results within a certain time after your interview.
Good luck!

Thanks for your help. It is frustrating because they make such a big
deal about being precise with the paperwork you give them, and then it
seems to be completely random on what they dispense back to you!

Did you have experience getting AP documentation, by any chance? We
will have to apply for it Nov. 8 (or thereabouts) and have a trip
scheduled for December 15 (we are having a second wedding in Britain so
my husband's family can be present). I'm very skeptical we'd get the AP
by then.

Thanks again!

Hi Marie,

APs seem to be taking about 2 months to process. I wouldn't count on having your AP by Dec. 15th.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Have you had the 70 day letter yet, with an appointment to go get your EAD and AP?
If so, I'm pretty sure you will receive both on the same day - I know this applies to the EAD anyway.
Having said that, I've heard of ppl getting there and being told they can't apply for AP.
I'm with Rene on this one - I really wouldn't bank on getting the AP in time to travel in December. But who know, maybe your GC will arrive before then.

Shoot, I keep forgetting the DORA program works differently. Hopefully the OP will have the AP or GC in time. But, be prepared in case you don't.

We aren't holding our breath on the travel. We had the AOS interview on
8/31 and according to the 90-day target processing time for DORA
participants, we could have the green card by the end of November,
making the travel issue not a problem. Since we just did the biometrics
today, I am not optimistic about the GC processing being completed by
the end of November. I anticipate receiving the 70 day notice Nov. 8
(if they send out by the 70th day). Since we did DORA, we haven't payed
for the AP/EAD fees or filed that paperwork, so I'm not sure what to
expect come 70 days (e.g. an invitiation to apply for AP or an actual
appointment to go get something done). I guess we'll cross that bridge
when it gets closer. Thanks again!

If this helps any, my 70 day letter arrived on Sept 30th with an appointment to apply for EAD and AP on Oct 13th.
I didn't bother though. I hated the thought of having to fork out an extra $175 - not to mention the 7 hour drive to Dallas!

That does help. It is useful to have an idea of general timelines for
the Dallas office. We are more of a 20 minute drive, but the $175 still
stings!

Thanks!
