Thanks again!
No time limit on that, June will be fine.

So if we were to get 'paper' married in LA in March, come back to London and then start the filing in June that would be absolutely fine? Would it make a difference if we got 'paper' married in London?

It does not matter where the marriage takes place.

It is a long process (12-18 months on average) and if anything goes wrong like mine it will be longer.

Phew! scared me there! And the confidential marraige in California is equally as valid? Only difference I can see is you don't need witnesses. Would make things easier...don't have to ask people to take time off work etc.

My wife and I got married in California 2016 and I'm pretty sure you still need a witness / witnesses.

Ok..I've just been reading that there is a confidential option, or a public one. Confidential option involves no witnesses but you have to swear you live together. Just hope that won't be seen badly by the immigration people.

Does your other half not have any friends or family that can come?

I'm not sure. I suppose she could ask. Just thought it would be easier and people wouldn't have to take time off, but I'll research a bit more.

Congratulations by the way! Sounds like you had quite a journey!

Are you living in LA?
