Automatic Visa Revalidation using Receipt
Greetings,
I am on H-1B and my H-1B renewal has been filed by the company.
In the meantime, I need to travel to Canada within the next 10 days or
so.
My I-94 has expired and I haven't got the new I-94 yet.
My question is: can I travel to Canada and return within the 30 days
using the expired I-94 and the BCIS receipt for the petition filed?
Is that allowed, or do I have to have a valid I-94 in order to use the
AVR?
Thanks.

Re: Automatic Visa Revalidation using Receipt
Unfortunately, you would need a valid I-94. If you can postpone your trip
a little, consider requesting premium processing. You can request that
even after the H-1B has been filed.
