Yesterday I received my approval letter finally! I had contacted our congressman's office who found out that the office had failed to update the computers with my security check results. How suprising. But now I have my nice little letter of approval, with a notice saying when to file for removal of conditions in 2005. Now we can go visit my family back in Canada!

Kiwa, can you post your timeline? My hubby's AOS file is in Atlanta

I have my timeline at http://home.mindspring.com/~katrina_.../timeline.html . I guess its pretty good, a year and a half from initial fiancee petition to conditional perm residency. Too bad 8 months was waiting after my AOS interview. Hehehee. If it has been 6 months you will probably have to contact your congressman like I had to.

Hi Kiwaberry
I am Canadian who also had an AOS interview on December 23, 2002 but
at the BCIS office in Boise, Idaho. I was told the exact same thing
as you were about the security checks. Seven months later and still
no call to come and get the stamp. I did however go in last month to
BCIS and they informed me that security checks still had not come back
for me or my son. The woman I spoke with went directly to the officer
that my son and I had the interview with. So how much longer should
we be waiting? I find this odd - seven months and still nothing. She
also told me that if nothing came back before expiration date on EAD
card in NOvember, to come in and get my card renewed. Argggggggggggh.

"Because of the changes with the creation of the Homeland Security
thing the INS is no longer allowed to approve AOS on site anymore"
this statement is untrue i had my interview on may 27th 2004 and had
it approved onsite within 2 hours of the interview.

I have some questions regarding your Atlanta AOS interview: did you get your medical supplement (instead of an entire new medical since you got that for your K1 interview, right?)? Did they accept a 3-year-old medical supplement or did you have to do another one shortly before your interview? Where did you get your medical done? And how much did it cost? Thanks!
